Astro-Kinetic Reflection:
Temporally Conditioned Reverberative Thoughts
Resulting from Astro-Kinetic Contemplation
In the next few hours, Mars will come into conjunction with Venus in the House of Leo, all under the watchful eye of the Moon, which at present occupies the same house. This configuration brings the observer to contemplation of the compatibility and mutual support of masculinity and femininity. The Cosmic Feminine Moon occupies Leo, a house ruled by the Sun (the Cosmic Masculine). The personal Feminine and Masculine (Venus and Mars) conjunct. Generally, when conjunctions occur it is seen as an opportunity to consider confluential traits. It is as if all signs are pointing to a recognition that duality exists in paradoxical tension. Creation is constructed this way in order to supply cross-spectral mutual pedagogy and to create and influence as a whole.
In the office of Readings, we see how things can go wrong when one lacks cross-spectral influence, is invested in one side of the spectrum, and acts to the exclusion of the other. Elijah seeks to demonstrate the power of God through an act of competitive masculinity and in the reading, he seems to win. By the end of the reading, he has objectively demonstrated the dominance of the Hebrew God over Baal and killed all of the opposing priests. But his methods do not win him the hearts of Israel and due to Jezabel’s intervention (an oppositional example of an unchecked gender extreme), he is forced to flee for his life, abandoned, alone and exhausted. It is not until he is able to hear the whispering (intuitive) voice of God on Horeb (not in the objective natural forces of wind, fire, and the earthquake.) that he is effective. The Moon in the House of Leo, ruled by the Sun, hosts Mars and Venus. The cosmos informs us as individuals who come into community creatively and for a purpose. It is our job not to isolate and strike out at the “other”.
Today the church celebrates a modern Holy Dyad, that is a pair of Saints who are married to each other. Today is the feast of Saints Louis and Zelie Martin. Living in the 19th Century, Louis was a watchmaker and Zelie was a lacemaker. Even their respective trades speak to a harmony between mechanical precision and intuitive beauty. Each was a creator in their own right. Together they generated nine children; five of them, all girls, survived to adulthood and became nuns. The youngest was Saint Therese of Lisieux, the late 19th century mystic and Doctor of the Church.
When balancing their individual vocations with the product of their mutual labor, one gets a sense of how the cosmos invested in a present gender dualism, expressed itself in this couple. But as they lived, suffered, and died, they together created this small person who breaks the barrier of formal recognition into a masculine field (of the 36 Doctors of the Universal Church, only 4 are female). But her manner of being a Doctor is intuitive, feminine, and practical. These inter-influences are a great meditation for what the heavens symbolize today. As one identifies extremes on the gender spectrum within oneself, one can seek a balanced influence in order to best apply oneself in community.
